Nicole’s Fragrant Launch

The star's first fragrance is a nod toward her mom.

Nicole Richie’s first fragrance is set to be released. Nicole, the fragrance, was developed in collaboration with TPR Holdings LLC and marks the Fashion Star mentor’s entry into the beauty category. To celebrate the launch, Richie will unveil her fragrance at Macy’s Glendale on August 29 th and Nordstrom at the Grove on September 20 th, 2012.

Inspired by Richie’s childhood memories, the eponymous fragrance is described as reminiscent of the uniquely layered scent her mother would wear—a distinct combination of exotic oils and fragrant lotions. “I knew exactly what I wanted to do because my mom would combine different oils and lotions, and the blend of scents became very special to me,” said Richie. “Nicole blends the smells of my childhood memories with the aromas of the present.”

Richie worked closely with esteemed fragrance nose, Steve DeMercado to create the soulful scent, which celebrates the everyday moments in life. A fragrance for every woman and any occasion, Nicoleembodies Richie’s style, spirit and wide breadth of creative talents.

As far as the packaging, Richie worked closely with luxury design expert Dale Brandon Kan, to create a design that draws from her personal style and bohemian flair. Elements of art nouveau and vintage design are incorporated. The combination of these distinct styles is complimentary and unexpected and very much an extension of Nicole’s artistic vision.
